On alkamassa toiminnantäyteinen vuosi 2013. Meillä on
käynnissä ammattikorkeakoulu-uudistus, siihen liittyen DIAKin
organisaatiouudistus ja oman järjestömme O’Diakon muutosprosessi. Minä lupaan
omalta osaltani vuoden 2013 hallituksen puheenjohtajana, että teemme entistä
enemmän yhteistyötä DIAKin, SAMOKin, muiden opiskelijakuntien, yritysten ja
kolmannen sektorin toimijoiden kanssa. Etenkin kaltaisemme pienen toimijan on
todellakin panostettava yhteistyöhön selvitäkseen.
Yhteistyön lisäksi lupaan kantaa huolta siitä, että
muuntaudumme entistä ammattimaisempaan suuntaan. Voidaksemme perusteellisesti
huolehtia päätehtävästämme eli opiskelijoiden edunvalvonnasta, on toimijoiden
tunnettava meitä ohjaavat lait, asetukset ja säännöt perinpohjaisesti.
Keskitymmekin siis entistä enemmän toimijoiden koulukseen.
Uudessa hallituksessa aloittaa kolme opiskelijaa joilla on
äidinkielenään jokin muu kuin suomi. Tämä on jo itsessään sekä haaste että
mahdollisuus. Saamme kansainvälisten opiskelijoiden äänen kuulumaan entistä paremmin. Jatkossa tulemme panostamaan entistä enemmän siihen, että
materiaalit ovat sekä suomeksi että englanniksi.
Kiitos linjakkaasti hoidetusta pestistä vuoden 2012
edustajistolle ja hallitukselle. Yllättävistäkin haasteista huolimatta he
selviytyivät tehtävistään mallikkaasti.
Tulevana vuonna 2013 ei riitä että meillä on aktiivinen
hallitus. Ei riitä että meillä on aktiivinen edustajisto. Ei riitä että meillä
on aktiivisia paikallisjaostoja. Tarvitsemme aktiivisia opiskelijoita!
Toivotan kaikille jo oleville ja tuleville ystäville ja yhteistyökumppaneille menestyksekästä vuotta 2013!

A new year
full of activity is beginning. We are facing the reformation of the whole UAS
field. We are having the new organizational changes of DIAK and we are renewing
our own organization O’Diako as well. As the new Chairman of the Board I myself
promise that we will do more co-operation with DIAK, SAMOK, other student
unions, corporations and associations of the third sector.
In addition
to co-operation I also promise that we will take a turn to become a more
professional organization. To take care of our primary task, that is student
welfare, we need to be aware of all our boundaries. In short, everyone of us needs
to know what we can do and what we can’t do. We will be having more training in
the matters of association work for our actives.
In our new
board, there will be three members that are not so familiar with the Finnish
language. This is a challenge but also an opportunity, as they will bring the international
aspect more clearly on the table. From now on we will be concentrating even
more to having the documents and materials in English as well as in Finnish.
I’d like to
thank the actives of the year 2012 for their streamlined job. Even though they
had quite a few surprises and numerous challenges they managed to get through
fine.
In the next
year it won’t be enough that we have an active board, active council or even
active local branches. We need active students!
I wish all our current and future friends and associates happiness and success in the year 2013!
